Author: Kelsey Kautzsch

I’m Kelsey. I have had several blog sites over the years and have always loved to write. As a child, my goal was always to become some iteration of a writer when I finally “grew up.” That half-baked plan stayed with me through high school and in the first year of my college life. At that point, I fell in love with teaching and began the six-year journey to getting my first teaching job, where I began to teach writing to elementary students. That is where I fell in love with writing all over again. I am still teaching writing and am constantly trying to find more time to write, myself. In between the teaching and the writing, I truly enjoy drawing and painting, cooking (especially the part where I get to eat), listening to music, and sharing life with those around me. This forum is a space where I will share about my many joys, struggles, and passions. Whether you are a regular or this is your first time checking in, I want to thank you for joining me on these little adventures.

Throwback to these two pink illustrations of childhood! I had never finished the pink Gameboy so I can’t remember if I ever posted it. I had a list of like seven things that represented childhood to me and only ever did these two. 😆 Cleaned them up a bit and vectorized them! Should I make them prints?? LOVE the variation in each cup 😍 Swirly cups! Working on getting looser and less controlled with my pottery. Yesterday, I chatted with a friend about the idea of teaching children that the world is harsh by having strict expectations. In my experience, that kind of philosophy does not build resilience, but rather breeds hopelessness. I’m trying to unlearn these self-expectations and be kind to my mind ❤️ I finally got to get the moon mug from the studio! So much texture and definition was lost due to the glazing. We’ve been low on glaze due to supply shortages, so pouring was difficult. This won’t be the last attempt, though! Moon mug, ready for the kiln! 🤞please turn out cool🤞 No matter how careful I am, there’s an 80% chance I will do this. It was a joy and an honor to partner with my beautiful best friend @raecolaaa in making this logo for her new business, @tidyserenespaces Everything I made in my first pottery class back in January! I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to work at this new hobby.
